Clinton Adviser Resigns Over Obama Comment

Following up on yesterday’s post about the flap between the Clinton and Obama camps:

Bill Shaheen, the Clinton adviser who suggested that Republicans would pounce on Obama’s admission that he experimented with drugs as a teen, has resigned. “As soon as I found out that one of my supporters and co-chairs in New Hampshire made a statement, asked a series of questions, I made it clear it was not authorized, it was in no way condoned, I didn’t know about it and he stepped down,” Clinton said.

Clinton added that she has “personally apologized,” and when asked if Obama’s drug use should be an issue, she replied, “not in my campaign.”
