California Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger passed a law yesterday banning all drivers under 18 from using cellphones and any other communication devices behind the wheel–even if they’re hands-free. The law takes effect next July, at which time adult drivers in California will be required to switch over to hands-free chitchat.
When asked at a press conference why he decided to push for the law, Schwarzenegger repeated a line from The Running Man. “I’m not into politics,” he said. “I’m into survival.”
Later, when a group of teen activists demanded to know why he was intruding on their rights, he cited a line from Kindergarten Cop: “Stop whining! You kids are soft. You lack discipline!”
