Blanco Declines Clemency for Bell… Ask Her to Reconsider!

The letters to Governor Blanco are pouring in. On Monday Juan LaFonta, a Louisiana State Representative and chairman of the state’s Black Caucus, wrote her a letter requesting clemency for Mychal Bell. Blanco has so far declined to intervene, but the letter-writing campaign continues unabated. You can add your name to the list of thousands of letter writers, too. By filling out this form, courtesy of the NAACP, you’ll send a message to Governor Blanco and Louisiana Attorney General Charles Foti Jr. objecting to Bell’s wrongful conviction and requesting a full investigation. Or, if you prefer, you can send a similar message through the Color of Change website, which is close to reaching its goal of flooding Blanco’s inbox with 200,000 emails.

  1. Governor Blanco, WHY would you deny this child clemency??????????To fuel the situation or to mollify the whites?
